Sellix Alternatives: How to Compare Digital Storefronts
Comparing Sellix alternatives like Sell.app, SellAuth, SellHub, Shoppex and Komerza? Use this checklist of fees, payments, delivery, Discord and migration questions.
10 min read
The best Sellix alternative is the platform that supports the payment methods your buyers use, delivers your product type automatically, and has a fee and payout model you can live with. Common options sellers compare include Sell.app, Shoppy, SellAuth, SellHub, Shoppex, Komerza and OpenStock. Fees and features on these platforms change often, so this guide gives you a repeatable checklist instead of a scoreboard. Use it to check each vendor's current pricing and feature pages yourself.
We build OpenStock, so we have an obvious interest here. To keep this useful, we only make specific claims about our own product. Where OpenStock is a poor fit, we say so.
Key takeaways
- Start from your own requirements: which payment methods you need, what you deliver (keys, files, Discord roles, accounts), and how much fraud you see.
- Ask every platform the same questions about fees, payouts, delivery types, Discord, fraud tools, custom domains, API access and import. Check the answers on each vendor's current pages.
- OpenStock's import tool supports Shoppex, SellHub, SellAuth, Sell.app and Komerza. Moving from Sellix or Shoppy into OpenStock is a manual process.
- OpenStock uses gateways that you configure and own, such as your own Stripe account and PayPal, plus crypto store wallets you withdraw from. If you want a merchant of record to handle global sales tax and VAT for you, look at merchant-of-record platforms instead.
- Run the old and new stores side by side until test orders, delivery and payouts all work.
What sellers usually look for in a Sellix alternative
Most people switching want the same kind of product with one or two specific problems fixed. Those problems usually fall into these categories.
Payment method coverage
This is usually the deciding factor. Some sellers need cards, others mostly sell to buyers who prefer PayPal or crypto. Check which methods are supported, whether they go through the platform's account or your own, and whether some methods are only available on certain plans. Our guide to payment methods for digital products covers the trade-offs of each method in detail.
Delivery types
Make sure the platform can deliver what you sell without manual work. That might be serial or license keys from a stock list, downloadable files, generated licenses from a licensing system, account credentials, or Discord roles. If delivery is not automatic, you become the delivery system. For background, see automated digital product delivery.
Discord integration
For community-driven stores, Discord is often part of the product itself. Ask whether the platform can assign roles after payment, add buyers to a server, remove roles on refund or chargeback, and post store events to a channel.
Fraud tooling
Digital goods attract card testing and friendly fraud. Look at what controls the platform gives you: blocklists, country rules, review queues for high-value orders, and visibility into why an order was flagged. Treat any promise of "zero fraud" with skepticism. Our guide to reducing chargebacks on digital goods covers what actually helps.
Custom domains and storefront control
A custom domain makes a store look established and keeps your links portable if you ever move again. Check whether custom domains are supported, which plan they require, and how much control you get over themes, pages and SEO fields.
Fees and payout model
There are two parts to this: what the platform charges (subscription, per-transaction fee, withdrawal fee) and how money reaches you. Some platforms collect funds and pay you out. Others connect to your own gateway accounts. The model affects cash flow, dispute handling, and what happens if an account is frozen.
API and integrations
If you run a bot, a launcher, or your own website, you will want API keys, webhooks, and ideally an embeddable or API-driven checkout.
Migration and import
Re-creating a large catalog by hand takes a long time and it is easy to make mistakes. Check whether the new platform can import from your current one, and exactly what that import includes.
A checklist to use with every platform
Copy this table and fill it in for each platform you are considering. Get answers from each vendor's current pricing and feature pages or from their support team, not from comparison posts, including this one. Pricing pages change, and third-party summaries go out of date quickly.
| Question to ask | Why it matters | Where to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Which payment methods are supported, and on which plans? | Missing methods means lost sales | Vendor pricing and payments docs |
| Do payments go to my own gateway accounts or through the platform? | Affects payouts, disputes and account risk | Vendor docs or support |
| What are the subscription, transaction and withdrawal fees? | Determines your real margin | Vendor pricing page, dated screenshot |
| Which delivery types are automatic (keys, files, licenses, roles)? | Manual delivery does not scale | Product or feature docs |
| Can it grant and revoke Discord roles automatically? | Needed for role and membership sales | Integration docs |
| What fraud rules and review tools exist? | Controls chargeback exposure | Feature docs, a test account |
| Are custom domains supported, and on which plan? | Branding and link portability | Pricing page |
| Is there an API, webhooks, or embeddable checkout? | Bots, launchers, external sites | Developer docs |
| Can I import my current store, and what is included? | Migration effort | Import docs or support |
| Is there a public status page and a support channel? | Visibility during incidents | Vendor site |
| Who handles sales tax or VAT? | Compliance responsibility | Terms of service |
The alternatives people usually compare
Sell.app, Shoppy, SellAuth, SellHub, Shoppex and Komerza are all hosted storefronts for selling digital goods. We are deliberately not summarizing their current fees, features or policies. We cannot verify those details on an ongoing basis, and stale numbers would mislead you. Use the checklist above on each vendor's own site. Of these, OpenStock can import from Shoppex, SellHub, SellAuth, Sell.app and Komerza.
How OpenStock fits
OpenStock is a hosted platform for selling digital products such as software license keys, files and downloads, accounts, and Discord roles or server access. You can see the full list on the features page. Here is how it maps to the checklist.
Payments. You connect gateways using your own accounts. Supported options are Stripe (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other Stripe methods, using your own Stripe keys), PayPal business, PayPal Friends & Family, Venmo, Cash App, crypto (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum) received into OpenStock store wallets that you withdraw to your own address, Card to Crypto (the customer pays by card and it is converted to crypto through Onramper), Xsolla, and customer store-credit balance.
Delivery. Serial and license keys are pasted one per line and delivered automatically after payment. Files are uploaded to OpenStock's CDN and attached to a product, with an optional delivery note. KeyAuth licenses can be generated at purchase using your KeyAuth seller key. Customers receive a delivery email and an order page. See selling software license keys for a walkthrough.
Discord. You can connect a server and map products to roles. You can choose whether buyers are added to the server after payment, and whether joining is required, optional or disabled at checkout. You can also choose what happens on a refund or chargeback: remove the role and kick, remove the role only, or do nothing. Custom bots and Discord webhooks for order and product events are also available. More detail is in how to sell Discord roles.
Fraud Shield. This is a rules engine with IP blacklists, email blacklists, country blocks and high-value order thresholds. Each rule can block the order, flag it for review, or silently log it, and rules have priorities. It is available on Silver and above. It reduces exposure; it is not a guarantee against fraud.
Storefront. Every store gets a <store-slug>.openstock.io subdomain. Paid plans (Silver and up) can link a custom domain. Customization includes a theme gallery, a visual store builder, a template and code editor, custom pages, popups and per-product SEO fields. An embeddable checkout lets you sell from another website.
Developer tools. API keys, a Checkout API, a Withdrawal API and a Customer Balance API are available, along with team members with permissions and audit logs. Details are in the docs.
Plans. There is a Free plan, plus Silver, Gold, Emerald and Elite. The crypto withdrawal fee goes down as you move up plans, from 5% on Free to 0% on Elite. Check the pricing page for current plan details before you commit.
When OpenStock might not be the best fit
Be honest with yourself about these cases.
- You want a merchant of record. OpenStock's payment model relies on gateways that you configure. You are the merchant on your own Stripe or PayPal account, and you are responsible for that provider's rules and for any sales tax or VAT obligations. If you want a company to act as the legal seller and handle global tax collection and remittance for you, merchant-of-record platforms are designed for that.
- Your gateway will not accept your product category. Using your own Stripe or PayPal account means you have to meet their acceptable-use policies. If your products fall outside those policies, a seller-configured model will not fix that.
- You need a payment method OpenStock does not list. If your audience depends on a method that is not listed above, check with each vendor before switching.
- You are migrating a large catalog from Sellix or Shoppy. There is no automatic import from these platforms, so plan time for a manual move.
How to migrate
A careful migration avoids lost orders and confused customers. This process works whichever platform you move to.
- Inventory everything. List your products, variants, prices, stock (keys, files), coupons, Discord role mappings, webhooks, and every place you link to your store.
- Create the new store. On OpenStock, open the store import page. If you are coming from Shoppex, SellHub, SellAuth, Sell.app or Komerza, select the provider and paste an API key from your old account. Sell.app may ask for a store slug; Komerza may ask for a store ID. The import reports how many stores, products and coupons were brought over.
- Rebuild anything that was not imported. Coming from Sellix or Shoppy, you will re-create products by hand. Either way, check every product: paste key stock one per line, re-upload files, and re-check prices and variants.
- Connect payments. Add your Stripe keys, PayPal, crypto wallets or other gateways in the payments settings.
- Set up delivery extras. Connect Discord and map products to roles, add KeyAuth if you use it, and configure Fraud Shield rules if you are on Silver or above.
- Place test orders. Buy one of each product type and confirm the email, order page, role assignment and payout path.
- Move your domain. If you use a custom domain, point it at the new store. Our custom domain guide walks through the DNS steps.
- Switch links and run in parallel. Update your Discord, socials and any bot links. Keep the old store available for a short overlap so in-flight orders and support requests can finish.
If you want to try this with a few products first, you can create an OpenStock account on the Free plan and run test orders before moving everything.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Sellix alternative?
There is no single best option. The right platform is the one that supports your buyers' payment methods, delivers your product type automatically, and has fees and a payout model that suit you. Compare candidates with the same checklist, and confirm each answer on the vendor's current pricing and feature pages.
Can I import my Sellix store into OpenStock?
No. OpenStock's import tool supports Shoppex, SellHub, SellAuth, Sell.app and Komerza. Moving from Sellix or Shoppy means re-creating products, stock and settings manually, so plan time to check everything with test orders.
What does OpenStock's import tool bring over?
The import connects to your previous provider with an API key and reports how many stores, products and coupons were imported. After importing, review each product, confirm stock and files, and set up payments, Discord and fraud rules, since those depend on your own accounts.
Is OpenStock a merchant of record?
No. OpenStock connects to payment gateways you configure, such as your own Stripe account, PayPal and crypto wallets. You remain responsible for each provider's terms and for any sales tax or VAT obligations. If you need a merchant of record to handle that, consider platforms built for that model.
Does OpenStock support custom domains?
Yes, on Silver and higher plans. You add an A record pointing at the platform IP shown in your dashboard, OpenStock verifies the DNS and provisions SSL. Cloudflare users need to set the record to DNS-only. On the Elite plan, OpenStock purchases the domain for you.
How long does migrating a store take?
It depends on catalog size and whether your current platform is supported by an importer. A handful of products is quick to rebuild and test. Larger catalogs migrated manually take longer, mostly because of re-entering stock and checking delivery. Running both stores in parallel for a short period reduces risk.
